Welcome again to Saturday Morning Home Repair blogging, where we talk about fixing up houses, doing repairs on all the things in and around them that are supposed to work but don't, and sprucing our places up. An ad hoc cadre of building professionals and gifted amateurs, we will attempt to answer questions that arise from readers, and offer encouragement and advice for those inclined to do things for themselves, if they can. We all do a lot of different things, collectively, and can probably help out with insights from our vast experience.
Or sometimes, we just gab - and you can join the gabfest after the jump.
Hey, CodeTalker here. I don't have a project today - it's been weird and busy for a couple weeks - my SO was in the hospital for 5 days (she's better now), I had to replace the entire exhaust system on the Monte (in the driveway cuz I'm cheap), the weather finally broke so I could do outside chores (no snow+rain days so far this week), plus trying to get spring cleaning done. This summer I have to replace a rotting front porch threshold and storm door frame, plus build my damn cellar stairs to replace the rickety mess we've used for 20+ years, among a zillion other things that demand attention here at the hovel.
On top of that, I'm still not sleeping at night (for up to 4 days at a stretch!), and if I do it's more like passing out during the morning for a few hours, so I may not even be up to chat this morning. If you're not already bored stiff and mumbling at me through your keyboard for a no-content diary, please join in, post a comment or question, OR BETTER YET, volunteer to put up a diary (I hope CJB posts the schedule, I don't have a copy) - cuz we're like, desperate for someone, anyone, to take a Saturday. Please. It's even OK if you haven't got a project going, like me, as long as you open the SMHRB shop.
What's YOUR weekend/week/month/Spring looking like?
