Aloha. Remember me? Maybe, maybe not, depending on how long you have been around here. This week whoever is responsible for sending out the Daily Recommended Diary email dragged out one of my photo diaries from July 2011 to share with the community. I guess it motivated me a little bit to return here and share a few images I have taken in the past few months. As I used to say, these diaries are just meant as simple distractions from the daily battle, and as a reminder that there is beauty around us that needs protection. I hope you enjoy it.
Sunrise, East Oahu
Bottlenose Dolphin Tursiops truncatus
Sandbar Shark Carcharhinus plumbeus
Day Octopus Octopus cyanea
Fantail Filefish Pervagor spilosoma
A species endemic to Hawaii. These two appear to be in some kind of mating or competition ritual.
A very large and pregnant Whitetip Reef Shark Triaenodon obesus
Rough-toothed Dolphin Steno bredanensis
Humpback Whale Megaptera novaeangliae
This move is called a peduncle throw.
Humpback Whale Megaptera novaeangliae
Breach!
Lanikai Sunrise
Devil Scorpionfish Scorpaenopsis diabolus
These two were really going at each other. Once again I am not sure if this was a mating or competition thing, but it looked like competition.
Hawaiian Spinner Dolphin Stenella longirostris longirostris
Another Lanikai Sunrise
Sunrise With Palms
Humpbacks at Sunset
If you don't like this diary I refer you to my new Complaint Department
This is Eddy the Action Dog. Unlike the former Complaint Department he will appear to really care about everything you are concerned about, however the end result will be the same, but with slobber.
